SILICA GEL

It captures water molecules through the process of adsorption. This is the process by which the atoms of the water molecule adhere to the surface of the Silica Gel through a bonding process. The adsorption process will go on until the entire surface is coated with a thin film of water molecules.

Ours is an amorphous form of Silica and is highly porous in nature. The particles are composed of an interconnecting network of microscopic pores (capillaries) and therefore have a very large surface area. The mechanisms of moisture adsorption by Silica Gel include surface adsorption and capillary condensation in the porous network. It works well at ambient temperatures but might have a decreased adsorption rate and equilibrium moisture content at higher temperatures.

Advantages

  • Non-flammable and non-toxic
  • The shelf life is up to 24 months if stored airtight.
  • It is inert and will not corrode or disrupt materials.
  • Prevents fungus growth and is food-grade safe.
  • No moisture or lumps
  • Maintains Crispiness
  • Reusing the gel by regenerating and heating it will stave off absorption.
  • Can absorb up to 40% of its own weight.
  • Since it is non-toxic, odourless, and non-corrosive, it provides a premium, large volume of desiccant dryers with lower energy costs.
  • Compared to other desiccants, it has very stable thermal and chemical characteristics. This choice of desiccant is typically white, orange, or blue and is referred to as the non-indicating type.
  • Once the gel absorbs the moisture, it will remain unchanged physically.
  • Our indicating type of Silica Gel, is an additive that is added to the basic gel so that it changes colour upon the adsorption of water.
  • A self-indicating Silica Gel allows for a visual indication of the level of activity that is taking place.

DESICCANTS

They are commonly used to keep products dry and stable. Dry desiccants can absorb moisture from the air either by physical adsorption or by chemical reaction and thus reduce the humidity in the headspace of the sealed containers.

Our specially designed clay-based desiccants protect the critical components from damage due to moisture absorption and further issues related to the same.

Bentonite Clay Beads and Granules

  • Economical and the most cost-effective product that engineering industries use for protection against moisture.
  • Effective in extreme temperatures and relatively humid environments.
  • In the event that a packaged item exceeds 120 degrees Fahrenheit, there is the potential for the clay’s capacity to absorb the moisture in the air to deteriorate.
  • The clay desiccant is used for controlling moisture and humidity, as well as removing or inhibiting mould, mildew, corrosion, and odour. The most ideal use of the clay-based desiccant is carried out inside the storage and shipping containers, where there are more chances of moisture and humidity effects on the products being stored for a long time.
  • The clay is made with gray-colored small pellets. The adsorption capacity of clay is significantly smooth at low humidity levels and increases when relative humidity (RH) increases. The desiccant packets containing clay offer superior control of moisture in the sealed containers.
  • So, if you are going to export your products through shipping or a long journey, you must use clay desiccant to maintain the efficiency of your products related to any industry. They have the power to make a moisture-proof, invisible wall around the product's packaging that protects your product from any kind of damaging effects of moisture.
  • This clay is available in different types of packaging, such as packets, bags, or pouches made with non-woven fabric, Tyvek paper, cotton cloth, and polyester cloth. It can be regenerated easily and also does not swell as a result of adsorbing water vapour, moisture, or humidity.

Advantages

  • Natural and eco-friendly
  • High adsorption capacity
  • Safe for food and pharmaceuticals
  • Easy to use

C0NTAINER DESICCANT: Calcium chloride-based solutions

Calcium chloride (CaCl2) absorbs moisture from the air effectively. It can attract several times its own weight in water, dissolving into a liquid brine if the air is humid enough and the temperature is high enough.

The liquid brine is either trapped inside a collector or mixed with modified starch and thereby formed as a gel inside its packaging.

It is an inorganic compound—a salt with the chemical formula CaCl2. It forms white flakes or pellets at room temperature and is highly soluble in water. Calcium chloride Desiccants work well over a temperature range from the freezing point up to 80 °C or more. Calcium chloride is the active compound in all of our products.

The advantages of Krischa calcium chloride desiccant are as follows

Moisture absorption

The moisture absorption capacity of calcium chloride Desiccant is more than 8–15 times that of ordinary Desiccant. The moisture absorption rate can reach 300%.

Packaging

Ordinary Desiccants generally use single-layer packaging, which has poor water-locking performance. Calcium chloride Desiccant is made of one-way breathable environmental protection material and high-grade non-woven double-layer packaging, which firmly locks in water vapour. In addition, the double-layer packaging prevents side leakage and protects your products.

Temperature

When the temperature exceeds 37°C, the Silica Gel Desiccant will release water vapour, causing secondary pollution to the product; the calcium chloride Desiccant adapts to the temperature: -5 to 90°C.

Environmental protection

It does not contain EU-restricted substances such as DMF and any biocides, does not pollute the environment, can be discarded as ordinary garbage after use, and has passed RoHS and REACH.
